About the Role

We have a permanent part time opportunity for a pre-admission nurse. You will be part of a great team and have a very rewarding role being the key contact for patients on their surgical journey.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support, assessment, management and education to individuals to prepare patients for their planned surgery or procedure.
Treatment/management plans are developed in partnership with consultants, clinical staff and the patient and are documented accordingly.
Communicate effectively with the key stakeholders in the patient journey to enable forward planning and avoid cancellations and delays in surgery.

Skills & Experience

AHPRA Registered Nurse
Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills underpinned by well-honed problem-solving skills
Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrated commitment and ability to quality improvement, clinical risk management and evidence based best practice
Computer skills and ability to use Office based programs, database systems and patient management system.
Comprehensive assessment skills including anaesthetic, surgical, medical (including medication), allied health and nursing assessment.
Extensive experience in perioperative/surgical experience
