About the Opportunity
Arcare is seeking an experienced and strategic National Work Health & Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Work Health & Safety, Early Intervention and Injury Management programs nationally.
Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, this senior leadership role will work collaboratively across all levels of the business to embed a proactive safety culture and ensure WHS practices are integrated into core operations. The successful candidate will also lead a small team located across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales and contribute broadly to the People and Culture function.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and drive Arcare’s national WHS and injury management strategy
Develop, implement and monitor WHS systems, policies and procedures
Coach and influence leaders to integrate safety into everyday operations
Oversee incident investigations, risk management and corrective actions
Lead early intervention and return-to-work initiatives
Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
Analyse safety performance data and identify trends and improvement opportunities
Provide leadership, mentoring and support to a geographically dispersed team
Contribute to broader People and Culture initiatives and organisational objectives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Extensive experience in a senior WHS leadership role
Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and injury management practices
Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organisational levels
Experience managing teams across multiple locations
Excellent communication, coaching and relationship management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or related discipline
