The opportunity we are currently seeking a dynamic Financial Controller to be responsible for providing financial leadership across an award-winning design studio. The role will be a management position overseeing and leading a team of two, playing a key role in strategic planning whilst also remaining 'hands-on' and in the detail.
You will develop and ensure robust financial controls and governance, manage financial reporting and cash flow, and drive efficiencies across the business. This position will play a key role in evolving the finance function from a transactional partner to business partner. This role requires a strong communicator and business partner and someone ready to roll up their sleeves- a high-energy committed individual looking to 'make their mark' on a growing business.
The challenge your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the production of timely and accurate standardised monthly financial statements and management reports. Manage the statutory taxation obligations, including preparing tax calculation work papers.
Establish and maintain appropriate internal financial controls and risk management safeguards. Monitoring cash flow and treasury including oversight of AP and payroll processing. Develop and strengthen reconciliation practices – particularly as new business opportunities are implemented into the market.
Driving process improvement initiatives and implementing financial control strategies to support business expansion plans. Supporting financial due diligence and integration of business acquisitions. Support business unit heads in the pricing and commercial assessment of new contracts/tenders .
The expertise please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following CA / CPA qualified with relevant experience as a Financial Controller. Ideally, Big 4 or mid-tier chartered accounting experience. Ability to be hands-on with proven experience driving financial performance across a team-oriented environment.
Experience in the development and maintenance of financial systems, internal controls, and financial policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders. Self-starter who can build relationships across the business. A strong desire to grow into a future strategic leadership role as the business expands. Passionate with high achievement drive and a can-do attitude.
