Our role part of our national Building Consent Authority, Consentium, this is an integral support role to the team of building control officers. You'll provide technical administrative support to the Consent Processing and Inspection teams who conduct inspections, process and issue building consents and code compliance certificates. You'll also respond to general customer enquiries, ensure work volumes are managed successfully, and work to establish, maintain and monitor appropriate standards for the team.

The Administrator - Consent Services works closely with other team members, the wider Consentium team, Kāinga Ora project managers and administrators, as well as councils across New Zealand to ensure Consentium's legislative obligations are met, documentation is well managed and excellent customer service is provided. There is a strong focus on building constructive relationships with internal and external customers through all interactions.

The role requires a practical and positive approach, with strong self-management and relationship skills. Prior experience within building consent authority, inspections booking would be advantageous. This team enjoys flexibility to work from home a few times per week, with Tuesdays and Thursdays as anchor days to be in the office. Our new Administrator will need to be in the office daily for training and can enjoy working from home days once fully up to speed with the role.

What you will bring a team player with a positive attitude and great communication skills, you'll bring your prior administrative experience and great time management to this collaborative and detail-oriented team. You'll also demonstrate:

Previous experience working in a regulatory, construction or social housing environment or customer-focused role, working with a diverse stakeholder group. Ability to adjust your communication style to suit your audience.

Ability to comprehend information quickly to determine circumstances and choose an appropriate course of action while following best practice and process. Technically competent to navigate our inspections booking systems and other IT systems - prior experience with booking inspections is an advantage.
