In this role, you can work from home anywhere in New Zealand as our membership is national. If you have reliable Wi-Fi, excellent administrative skills, are a person with integrity and have great communication skills, we’ll consider your application.

We are looking for a contractor who will work 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday. There will be a degree of flexibility about the hours worked. Success for the position will rely on achieving the outcomes within the functions of the role.

You’ll be keen to make a meaningful contribution to the Paediatric Society of New Zealand. You’ll be responsible for our administrative tasks that include communicating with and responding to the PSNZ membership on a day-to-day basis in a public-facing role.

Acting as administrator to the PSNZ Council, Executives and other groups including arranging the AGM, arranging meetings, booking venues, taking minutes and managing actions, arranging travel, agendas etc. Occasionally these meetings are held in the evening.

Oversight of the website including membership announcements, uploading documents and updating events. Supporting the relationship with our accountants, who are contracted to provide day-to-day financial management of PSNZ accounting and financial management.

Day-to-day interaction working collaboratively with the Administration Assistants responsible for Clinical Networks and working alongside the Programme Director for their objective setting, personal development and progression. Carrying out ad hoc project work as necessary. Continual quality improvement to improve efficiencies across administrative functions. In return we’ll offer competitive rates.

Essential skills required cultural awareness; in particular an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Reo and the principles of Equity. Excellent communication skills with public-facing friendliness and ability to be responsive to  the PSNZ membership. Proficient computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite. Ability to use Trello and other tools with the team as a Programme Management tool.

Leadership experience, initiative and the ability to work within a team. Excellent written and spoken English. A strong eye for detail and the ability to work across various work streams. Self-motivated, taking responsibility for ensuring that tasks are completed, and deadlines are met. Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
