Shifts will be allocated on a roster system, and as such you may be required to work weekends

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a mental illness residing in the Inner Southeastern area of Melbourne.

Adult Inpatient Unit (IPU)

Our Adult Inpatient Mental and Addictions Health team is comprised of dedicated and compassionate mental health clinicians and lived experience workers. What you’ll be doing

The Senior Consumer Peer worker role is responsible for the guidance of consumer peer workers on the IPU and integrating strong processes that support consumer perspective recovery.

This position will be required to provide 28-day post discharge support to consumers for 40% of their time.

An important part of this role is to highlight peer work specific functions and their importance and benefits across the IPU multidiscipline teams.

About you

Lived experience of your own mental challenges and a rich understanding of your own processes of recovery
Minimum two years' experience in mental health peer work
Demonstrated experience in providing peer support or supporting others using their own lived experience
Formal qualifications are not mandatory for this role but may be helpful (Certificate IV in Peer Work, Cert IV in Mental Health AOD, Intentional Peer Support training, Peer Supervision Training)
