Library Customer Support Officer City of Port Phillip location Melbourne.

Library Customer Support Officer Band 4 $62,149 pro rata plus 9.5% Super. Temporary six-month roles - three vacancies available (28 hours/week). Library branch locations – St, Kilda, Albert Park, Middle Park, Port Melbourne, Emerald Hill.

About the organization the City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.

About the Role will provide excellent customer and information services as part of a dynamic frontline team, across the five branches of the Port Phillip Library Service. They will actively contribute to the delivery of circulation services, customer support and resource maintenance.

Duties initiate customer engagement to maximise access to library and Council resources and information. Resolve library user concerns and queries in a friendly, courteous and well-informed manner. Use systems and resources to enable customers to access library materials appropriate to their needs. Contribute to maintaining an accurate circulation database through various duties including issues, returns, status changes, and standard report production. Undertake library branch desk shifts, including a weekly evening and weekends as rostered.

Skills and experience V.C.E or equivalent level of secondary education. Driver’s licence or independent alternative mode of transport. Current Working with Children Check. Experience in a high-quality and fast-paced customer service role. Experience in accessing information resources to meet a user’s needs. Demonstrated experience with a Windows environment and Microsoft office.
