About the Organisation the ICT unit is an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney (the Archdiocese) and is responsible for the coordination and support of the day-to-day operations of the Archdiocese's ICT Service Desk.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney’s ICT Support Team is seeking a motivated and passionate ICT Support Officer to join our team. Working in a small and supportive team of professionals, you will be responsible for providing first and second level technical support directly to the staff of the Archdiocese.

About the role the primary purpose of the ICT Support Officer is to provide first and second level technical support directly to the staff of the Archdiocese. The role involves working with a range of new and proven technologies, have great problem-solving ability, a good understanding of standard IT Support and Services policies, and well as IT Infrastructure systems.

The ICT Support Officer will be working with a range of new and proven technologies. This is the perfect role for someone with a little experience looking to take their next step in an IT career. Your passion and interest in the role will see you occasionally tasked with projects and higher duties to help continue your development.

Your time management as well as relationship development skills will be on display, as well as your ability to manage competing priorities. You will be comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team to provide support to external contractors and stakeholders, as well as providing updates and reports to internal stakeholders This role is a permanent position operating in a full time capacity and based in the Sydney CBD.

Responsibilities providing desktop support response both remotely and in person, across Archdiocesan agencies and offices. Utilisation and management of general server and technical infrastructure to support and carry out support tasks. Assist the ICT Manager and other staff with technical project work and new technology roll-outs.

Take ownership of key processes and systems within the ICT Support toolkit and support development of their associated processes and workflow. Take part in regular daytime shift rotations, as part of our support commitment between 7:30am and 6:00pm. Other duties as directed by the ICT Manager.

Selection criteria Expert knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications – Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office. General experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Office 365. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Server, Active Directory, WDS, and other common corporate platforms. Experience with Service Desk ticketing and time tracking systems.

Intermediate understanding of infrastructure and server hardware concepts including virtualisation, datacentre technologies, cloud services and software-as-a-service. Intermediate understanding of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and LAN management. This appointment is subject to a satisfactory verification of a current Working with Children Check.
