Full time SCHADS Level 6 position based in the house at Wallan

This is a unique leadership role where you’re not just managing you’re embedded in the home. You’ll work alongside your team on the floor while also leading operations, creating a safe, consistent, and supportive environment where young people can thrive.
About the Role
Lead a residential care home supporting 4 young people and a team of 8 youth workers
Embed a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach in all aspects of care
Balance hands-on youth work with leadership, supervision, and operational oversight
Oversee care planning, documentation, and case management requirements
Run care team meetings and provide regular staff supervision and team leadership
Manage site operations including compliance, reporting, petty cash, and maintenance
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders such as DFFH

You’re an experienced residential care leader who can confidently run a house end-to-end
You bring strong knowledge of trauma, attachment, and therapeutic care
You lead from the front comfortable being on shift while guiding your team
You stay calm, consistent, and decisive in the face of complex and challenging behaviours
You know how to build and strengthen team culture through support, structure, and clarity
You’re resilient, independent, and able to hold a space for both staff and young people
You bring experience from similar environments (residential care, youth justice or child protection)
You genuinely care about your team, your work, and improving outcomes for young people
As a House Coordinator at AV you’ll receive:
SCHCADS level 6 remuneration starting at around $115,339 plus super.
