Executive Assistant Office of the Privacy Commissioner location Wellington.

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a highly experienced Executive Assistant to join our collaborative and high performing team. As the Executive Assistant to our two Assistant Commissioners, you will be working at a senior level and be the glue that helps hold their teams together. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner is Aotearoa New Zealand’s privacy regulator – an Independent Crown Entity established to protect individual privacy.

We are passionate about encouraging and sustaining a culture in Aotearoa where people’s personal information is protected and respected. The role provides executive support to the Assistant Commissioner (Policy and Operations) and Assistant Commissioner (Strategy and Insights), and administrative support to their functional business teams. It also provides back up administrative support for the Privacy Commissioner’s office as required.

This role includes diary management. Drafting routine correspondence and assisting with email management. Providing 1st level IT help desk support for team members. Organising events and other functions. Booking travel and accommodation. Acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Ensuring the Assistant Commissioners and their teams’ records are accurately captured and maintained within our information system. Assisting with the induction of new team members. You will need to have proven success as a highly effective Executive Assistant at a senior executive level. You will have a fresh and innovative approach and be able to operate in a rapidly changing environment. You must be proficient with technology, work well in a team environment, be able to manage competing priorities effectively, have very high standards of integrity and confidentiality, and be able to remain calm under pressure. The position requires excellent communication and relationship management skills.
