Description

Executive Assistant Serious Fraud Office location Auckland.

The Serious Fraud Office is a highly specialised government department responsible for the investigation and prosecution of serious or complex financial crime, including bribery and corruption. We take pride in the work we do to keep New Zealand safe from financial crime.

We employ a clever team of accountants, investigators, lawyers, electronic forensic, and counter fraud experts to do just that and, importantly, we have a small support team that enables them to focus on their work. Eighty strong, we are a cohesive team with a strong sense of justice and a vibrant culture.

We have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Executive Assistant to join our team based in Commercial Bay, Auckland CBD.

As our Executive Assistant, you will support our Chief Executive and ensure their office operates efficiently and effectively. You will manage calendars and mailboxes, co-ordinate meetings and events, manage agendas and minutes, produce correspondence, reports, and presentations, make travel arrangements, and manage expenses – all usual EA tasks.

Our point of difference is that you are our initial contact person for the SFO’s Minister and their office and the ministerial and CE offices of other government agencies and departments, and you will co-ordinate information sharing, produce official documents, and manage response deadlines. You will also manage and deliver projects and events, including our twice-yearly CE’s Awards.

You will have responsibilities beyond our CE’s office and support our senior leadership team in your areas of expertise, and act as our alternate co-ordinator for facilities matters and travel arrangements.

To be successful in this role you will be passionate about service delivery in an EA role and can demonstrate achievement supporting CEs and senior leadership teams. Experience within the legal or government sectors will enable you to readily assimilate to our work.

Collaboration and a willingness to provide service continuity in the absence of colleagues is super important. Accuracy is paramount, along with the ability to prioritise and work successfully when under pressure and within time constraints. Sound judgement, initiative, and professionalism are essential, as is the ability to hold a confidence. You will be valued for being reliable in every context, approachable, and accessible.

At the SFO we value a ‘growth mindset’ and explore this attribute during our recruitment process and in our development discussions.  We believe possessing a growth mindset is a key contributor to success in the SFO environment.

We are a close knit, motivated team with a strong workplace culture. We recognise that diversity and inclusion is important to our work. We value the unique abilities and perspectives of our employees which allows us to continue to create a supportive environment that meets the needs of our people, our business, and the communities where we work.

We are a flexible by default organisation. When our work allows, we have opportunity to work remotely a couple of days each week, and we have flexible start and finish times. We offer an additional week of annual leave that covers the three usual workdays between Christmas and New Year plus two days to use at your discretion.
