About us gillespie Consultants Limited (GCL) is a small Engineering Consultancy business based in Auckland with an office in Wellington.

We specialize in Engineering Designs of Three Water Systems, Three Waters Asset Inspections, Site Health and Safety and various Environmental Engineering assistance to both Government and Private clients.

The role due to the expansion on Three Waters asset inspection area, we have an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Wellington Office based in Paraparaumu, Kapiti Coast. GCL is looking for a Database Operator to work closely with other team members to develop and maintain GCL database.

It will also provide technical support to the GCL team to resolve any performance issues or customer enquiries and provides database's Operator skills & knowledge. This is a multiple responsibilities position where the position holder is expected to perform exceptionally well.

The responsibilities update GCL’s Data Bases on Regular Intervals including the Drop Box, One Drive and the internal server. Transfers asset inspection information from paper formats into computer files using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners.

Performs high-volume data entry using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other computer software. Carry out on field asset inspection works. Verifies integrity of data by comparing it to source documents. Reviews data for errors, missing pages, or missing information and resolves any discrepancies.

Maintains a filing system and protects confidential customer information. Performs regular backups to ensure data preservation. Responds to requests to retrieve data from the database or electronic filing system. Uses basic office equipment (photocopy machine, facsimile machine, etc.

Maintains a satisfactory level of quality and productivity per department standards. Completes additional assigned tasks as required. Will be able to work on field with Surveyors, Engineers, and Investigation Officers.

Will be handling all the customer related queries and handle the day-to-day management. Co-ordination with the GCL’s team leader on Resourcing the teams, work allocation, Monitoring and reporting the outcomes. Making sure that the teams follow proper processes in terms of health and safety all the time.

Your qualifications, skills & other requirements nzqa Accredited Level 7 Qualification in IT or Software Engineering. Un Restricted rights to work in New Zealand. Excellent command in English, both written and verbal.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word). Experience in Three Waters Asset Inspection (Manholes, Toby’s, Valves…), Lid Level and Smoke Testing survey will be beneficial. Experience in data entry or equivalent training will be beneficial. Attention to detail. Ability to multitask effectively.
