Join a fast-moving and dynamic general government authority. Competitive salary circa $71,000 – $75,300 pro rata, plus Superannuation.

Established in 1997 by the Victorian government, the Mallee Catchment Management Authority (CMA) region covers 3.9 million hectares. We are the largest catchment area in the state and run along the Murray River from Nyah to the South Australian border and south to the vast dryland cereal and wheat crops of the Wimmera.

Our primary responsibility is to ensure that natural resources in the region are managed in an integrated and ecologically sustainable way. We are the peak body for delivering natural resource programs in the Mallee. Our work is based on science and has meaningful partnerships with government agencies, local organisations such as Landcare, and community groups in the Victorian Mallee.

We now have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our dedicated team. This is a great opportunity for a recent (or soon to be finished) graduate to kick start their career, or someone looking for skill diversification and to gain financial experience supporting our corporate services team and wider organisation.

This role will support the accounts, finance, and contracts administration functions with accountabilities for accounts payable, contract claims, reconciling supplier statements, resolving discrepancies and processing payments.

To thrive in this role, you will have a relevant qualification (or working towards) in Accounting, Finance, or similar field, and ideally be seeking to complete a professional qualification such as CPA or CIMA. Experience in accounts payable, financial management, contract administration or similar and proficient Microsoft Office skills are required.

You will have practical interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders and work well within a team.

We require a professional and adaptable individual with a willingness to learn and further grow your skills in the field of Finance. You will have strong attention to detail, with a high level of integrity. In addition, you will be self-disciplined and be able to manage and prioritise your time effectively.

A competitive renumeration salary circa $71,000-$75,300 pro rata, plus superannuation negotiable based on skills and experience is on offer. Mallee CMA is an equal opportunity employer.
