VENUE MANAGER - FULL TIME

The North Fitzroy Arms Hotel is seeking a Venue Manager to join our dedicated and friendly team. This popular neighbourhood pub earned itself a long overdue restoration, reopening in 2024 as a food and wine focussed venue under a leading head chef and beverage director, while still retaining its heart, soul, and front bar charm. 2024 marked 150 years serving guests in the back streets of North Fitzroy, and to continue that tradition, we are in search of genuine hospitality professionals who are kind, positive, and passionate about the Hotel's direction.

 

THE ROLE:

The role is a hands-on venue management position where you will lead the FOH team during peak service times ensuring smooth operations, high energy, and outstanding guest experiences. As the face of the venue, you will set the tone for both staff and guests as cool, calm and collected, while delivering an outstanding pub experience. You will be supported and guided by our motivated GM and owner, whilst also working closely with the head chef, bar manager, sommelier, and entire FOH team. The role is remunerated with a competitive salary.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Rostering of entire FOH team

Wage costs and stock management

Bookings and functions enquiries

Lead busy services whilst driving revenue

Train managers, supervisors and other FOH team members

Licensing and council compliance

Staff appraisals

 

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

Experience section waiting in a fast-paced dining room

Experience in a supervisory or management role

Experience in a wine-focussed venue and/or WSET 2 or higher qualification (prefered but not essential)

Natural leadership drive and ability

Sharp eye for detail and organisation

Excellent communicator and team player

A friendly and welcoming demeanour

Able to create memorable interactions with our guests
