Our role the Team Leader - Project and Management Accounting leads a team that provides technical financial, project and management accounting, business performance expertise and services to budget holders in Kāinga Ora and Strategy, Finance and Policy Business Partners. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing leadership team that touches every part of the organisation.

What you will bring the Team Leader - Project and Management Accounting will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvements and will also be responsible for leading a dedicated team focused on centralising key functions to ensure uniformity and efficiency in core tasks. This role will be instrumental in streamlining processes, enhancing controls, and optimising performance, with a particular emphasis on improving month-end and management reporting functions.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following demonstrated example of running an efficient central process for month-end reporting, enabling optimal resource utilisation throughout the monthly reporting cycle. Lead and manage a team responsible for central functions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Establish and maintain standardised processes to ensure uniformity and consistency in core tasks especially with regard to management reporting. Develop and implement strategies to expedite processes and improve overall productivity.

Strengthen controls and compliance measures to uphold quality and accuracy in month-end and management reporting. Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices. Provide leadership and guidance to the team to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Demonstrated commitment to fostering good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership. The ability to clearly and concisely convey information and ideas in both oral and written communication. Demonstrated ability to identify, collect, organise and analyse complex data to provide information and enable decision-making.

A Chartered Accountant or similar qualification, and/or have significant experience working in a business or financial management role. The ability to earn trust and respect through behaving in a professional manner and using discretion.
