Our College is seeking a Learning Assistant (otherwise known as a Teacher Aide) to work as part of our Student Development team in our Junior School.

About you you are passionate about working with children and wanting to see them improve. You can provide effective support and service to others. You are patient and can build strong positive relationships with our community. You must have a blue card or be eligible for a blue card.

Responsibilities reporting to a Learning Development Coordinator, you will support students with additional needs and follow College processes and requirements in this context. Demonstrate skills in understanding the needs of all students and knowing how to contribute effectively to the delivery of support to meet individual needs.

Promote, support, and facilitate the participation of all students in learning and extracurricular activities. Support teachers in the classroom to provide a high-quality educational experience for all students. Record and note-take relevant data and evidence and maintain confidentiality.

Utilising digital platforms, contribute to effective assessment and planning by supporting the monitoring and recording of student performance and progress, as appropriate to the level of the role (sharing knowledge to inform planning and decision making).

Demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours to develop and sustain effective relationships with the school community. At all times engage positively with staff, students and parents. Demonstrate skills in understanding the needs of all students and knowing how to contribute effectively to the delivery of support to meet individual needs.

Facilitate small group literacy and numeracy interventions. Promote, support and facilitate the participation of all students in learning and extracurricular activities. Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently, in line with the College’s policies and procedures. Participate in staff daily devotions and College worship sessions.

Selection criteria demonstrated competence in supporting students including those with additional needs in an inclusive school context. Demonstrated capacity to utilise digital platforms (including Microsoft Teams) for the purpose of supporting teaching and learning and keeping records.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and a capacity to quickly develop authentic relationships. Commitment to continuous improvement and contributing to successful student and team outcomes. Strong, vibrant Christian faith. This role is based at our Springwood Campus.
