About this Position
We’re a small but mighty Talent Acquisition team shaping the next chapter of recruitment excellence at PFD. Our focus is simple to deliver meaningful hiring experiences, empower our people, and bring PFD’s purpose to life: we bring people together through food.
As our Operations Specialist, you’ll partner with leaders across Operations, Safety, Risk and Quality to find and onboard the people who keep our business moving: drivers, warehouse teams and operational specialists nationwide.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, enjoys variety, and takes pride in connecting people with purpose. You’ll be the go-to for frontline and operational recruitment while managing 12-20 live acquisitions, understanding the rhythm of our hubs, and supporting hiring managers with solutions that work on-site, not just on paper.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end recruitment for high-volume roles across multiple sites (Drivers, DC, Warehouse, WHS, Risk & Quality).
Partner with operational leaders to understand workforce needs and design practical hiring strategies.
Deliver a smooth, timely and professional candidate experience.
Build and maintain talent pools for repeat or high-demand roles.
Analyse recruitment metrics and report on progress.
Travel interstate occasionally to visit sites, build relationships, and understand operational needs.
Contribute to team projects that enhance candidate experience or process efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience in high-volume recruitment (internal or agency).
A passion for connecting with people from all backgrounds.
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
Curiosity and initiative; You enjoy finding better ways to work.
Proficiency with ATS systems (PageUp or similar) and LinkedIn Recruiter.
Confidence using AI tools as a productivity partner for example, to research markets, or automate routine admin.
The ability to prioritise, adapt, and stay calm under pressure.
What Success Looks Like (within 12-Months)
Trusted relationships with hiring managers across key hubs.
Known as “the go-to” for operational recruitment.
Candidates consistently describing a positive, human experience.
Contributions to at least one key project that improved how the team works.
A rhythm of quality, speed and partnership that reflects PFD’s standards of excellence
A note from your future leader
“I’m not looking for someone to copy my style, I’m looking for people who bring their own spark of excellence.
In our team, titles don’t define us: collaboration, curiosity, and care do. We value pace and precision just as much as empathy and inclusion. We hold ourselves to a high standard, not because we have to, but because we take pride in what we do.
If you love recruitment, want to be surrounded by people who genuinely support each other, and believe that great talent work changes a business - you’ll fit right in.”

We are offering competitive remuneration, superannuation and other staff benefits (such as discounts on staff purchases, discounted accommodation, health insurance and banking).
