PGG Wrightson Seeds is the largest proprietary seed company in the southern hemisphere. We are now part of the global seed company, DLF, headquarted in Denmark. We service both New Zealand and global markets, encompassing all facets of the seed market, from research and development through to seed supply and on-farm support.
PGG Wrightson Seeds are seeking a number of Summer Interns. During the summer months PGG Wrightson Seeds have opportunities available for students and others interested in farming, plant breeding, lab work or harvesting, to join their team in Lincoln, Canterbury.
We have positions available from the end of November through to March / April. Our positions are either 37.5 hours or 40 hours per week. Some overtime is expected and will be paid. These are primarily a field role, including general farm operations, havesting our dry matter and seed, creating reports, spraying chemicals and will involve some long hours and hard work through the summer season.
We also have roles in our Lab and Plant Breeding teams. You'll work closely with people who are recognised internationally as leaders in their field and often our Summer Interns are hired into permanent roles at the end of the season.
Desirable attributes sought study towards a Tertiary qualification in an agricultural related discipline or recent and relevant experience in a similar role. An affinity to farming in New Zealand.
