About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a great opportunity for a Senior ICT Engineer to join our Hunter Class based at Tonsley – South Australia, reporting to the Principal Software Manager.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

You will be responsible for a particular scope of work, either as an analyst, architect, system admin, network designer, technology specialist, or as a leader of a team of ICT engineers. They will be responsible for delivery of that scope of work. They will take the lead technically in determining and guiding the processes, tools and methods to be applied to scope of work. They will also be responsible for the development of more junior ICT engineers within their team or the broader project team, as applicable.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead effectively an ICT team or technical scope (analysis, architecture, system administration, technical support or network design)
Work with minimal guidance
Interface with other teams on the project ensuring that the broader project team’s needs are taken into account
Responsible for defining and maintaining elements of the project’s plans, and performing ICT tasks in accordance with those plans
Provide input and offer recommendations for improvement of Company processes and procedures

About YOU

Expertise with hardware and software-based computing, storage, and networking systems is considered essential
Defence security clearance (or eligibility to obtain) NV1 Clearance and be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations is considered essential
Experience with CISCO, VMWare, and/or Kubernetes solutions is considered highly-desirable
A professional background in the defence sector is considered desirable
Experience with defence cyber security assessment processes is considered desirable.
