Senior Hazmat Consultant
Occuhealth is a fully comprehensive occupational health and hygiene consultancy that has been operating throughout Western Australia for 25 years. Our expertise spans occupational hygiene, respiratory and ear plug fit testing, health surveillance, and hazmat/asbestos services, supported by our NATA-accredited laboratory. Occuhealth have an office in both Mandurah and Belmont.
The Role:
The Senior Hazmat Consultant will be a key member of the Hazmat and Occupational Hygiene division. The incumbent will utilise their industry experience to provide project consulting and management in the planning and execution of projects. They will maintain and build relationships, provide exceptional service and provide accurate and timely technical advice to clients. Internally, they will also assist with the NATA Laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
This hands-on fast paced role requires site work on a range of client sites. Responsibilities include:
• Undertaking asbestos/hazardous materials audits /sampling, asbestos surveys.
• Conducting a full range of air monitoring for friable and non-friable asbestos works and visual inspections during Asbestos/Hazmat remediation projects.
• Undertake NATA approved airborne asbestos fibre counting. (Training available)
• Maintaining and growing client relationships.
• Preparing accurate and timely reports.
• Ability to travel locally, regionally and interstate.

Essential Requirements:
• Hold an Asbestos Assessor Licence or have the relevant experience to apply immediately.
• Strong working knowledge of current WHS legislation and industry standards
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and exceed service expectations.
• Proficient use of online systems and Microsoft Office packages
• A current valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
Desirable:
• Experience with NATA fibre counting and laboratory procedures
• Knowledge, understanding and experience in occupational hygiene
