Our client is a long established organisation that has a business strategy of reinvesting in their existing operations. At the same time business growth is being achieved without compromising the traditional values and the standards of quality upon which the organisation has founded its reputation.

The Senior Financial Accountant is a key role that takes the lead in delivering the financial reporting, but this role also offers a broader range of exposure. Supported by three staff, this is a hands-on role that will continue the work being undertaken to streamline the reporting, which means the role is freed up to use new technologies that will support the business with insights and analysis.

Other responsibilities will include co-ordinating the budget processes, the financial forecasting and managing the annual balance reporting and audit. You will also be responsible for all statutory compliance and internal controls and will work closely with the business to investigate and resolve any issues or discrepancies. As the organisation looks for new growth opportunities there will be involvement working with other departments in the business to provide financial insight and advice.

While the technical reporting requirements are important, this position also offers plenty of scope to develop a broader range of skills, especially in regard to working with the business to influence, lead and manage change from the finance perspective.

To be considered you will need to be CA qualified but the key to your success will be your ability to build successful relationships across the business and to take complete ownership of your role. You will strive to apply continuous improvement techniques wherever possible and will have sound problem solving skills and a focussed and proactive approach.
