Description
We’re on the lookout for passionate Senior Category & Contract Specialists to join our Procurement team in permanent and fixed term roles. You’ll lead high-value and impact category and contract work, helping to deliver the infrastructure and supporting services that keeps people connected and safe. Opportunities are available in the following areas:
Technology;
Maintenance;
Facilities Management; and
Major Equipment and materials.

Your Role in Action
Take the lead in driving strategic category management for maximising supplier performance and delivering real value.
Build strong, trusted supplier relationships, backed by sharp negotiation skills and a focus on ongoing performance and partnership.
Design and deliver commercial strategies that drive value in accordance with Western Power’s strategic objectives.
Find and unlock cost-saving opportunities that boost efficiency and keep complex projects moving smoothly and on budget.
Champion best practice in procurement and driving continuous improvement.
Partner closely with stakeholders across the business—aligning supply with demand, supporting key financial processes, and shaping long-term supply chain strategy.
What Makes You a Great Fit
A background in procurement, contracts, or commercial strategy—whether through a degree or proven hands-on experience.
A track record of shaping and delivering category and contract strategies in large scale, high-impact environment.
Sharp negotiation skills and the confidence to manage complex, high-value deals.
A natural relationship builder who gets real value from suppliers—not just what's written in the contract.
Strong commercial instincts, with a solid grasp of risk, compliance, and financial frameworks in complex environments.
