Senior Advisor Tertiary Education Commission location Wellington.

Senior Advisor, Policy & Implementation - Kaitohutohu Matua, Whakatinana Kaupapahere. Help make policy real, to drive better outcomes for learners and whānau, employers and communities. We have multiple roles available following internal promotions within the Group. The roles are Wellington based.

What we are looking for we need Senior Advisors to join the Operational Policy team in the Policy & Implementation group at TEC. We are looking for someone who has proven experience in in policy, operational policy, or implementation design and works closely with others to lead, manage and contribute to varied work.

In this role your mahi could include exploring and defining problems. Critically assessing policy proposals to provide implementation advice or providing advice on the interpretation of policy for colleagues and the sector.

Planning and designing how policy and strategy will work in practice - including developing frameworks, guidance, forms and a range of communications. Working with other agencies and stakeholders to progress initiatives and provide advice relating to the tertiary or careers sector.

Your application will stand out if you show us how you do this sort of work, through you build trusted relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, to negotiate and influence. You can rapidly grasp complex and ambiguous concepts and situations, think critically, and provide considered and well drafted advice.

You plan and manage work well, and are confident in figuring out how to deliver effective solutions. You actively seek input and feedback and incorporate this into your mahi. You demonstrate cultural competence and awareness, including understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You thrive in a busy, tight-knit and collaborative team environment. An understanding of the tertiary education sector and working within Government processes is desirable but not essential.

The salary range for this position starts from $90,609 up to $106,599+ depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
