Generator Commissioning / Network Connections.
This key appointment will be pivotal in the practice, providing client interface, generator monitoring and analysis through to the commissioning and delivery direction for projects that form the body of work for the organisation. Reporting to the Director, the Principal Engineer is responsible for applying technical expertise, governance for the delivery of large electricity high voltage transmission system developments. The role also requires detailed knowledge, understanding and application of utility requirements to provide cost effective fit for purpose project solutions and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Engineering degree with a power system and/or power electronics focus.
Strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles, generator protection, SCADA, and experience in generation, transmission.
Extensive experience in generator commissioning and testing and review processes, policies to achieve improved team performance.
Proven knowledge of the National Electricity Market and operations of the High Voltage network
Experience with PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory software and power system modelling experience will be an advantage.
Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, specifically relating to electricity transmission, distribution and generation.
Knowledge of national electricity rules applicable to the security of the system and the performance requirement of generating systems.
Highly refined written and verbal communications for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Substantial experience in the legislation and technical standards guiding system planning of electrical networks engineering and operations.
