Outpatient Administrator Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand location Wellington. $74,090 (pro-rata).

Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District. Location Wellington Regional Hospital. Service Patient Administration Service. Contract Casual (up to 40 hours per week). Salary $74,090 (pro rata).

About the role we are seeking an Administrator to join our Outpatients Team which supports a patient’s journey from referral, to a District treatment provider, right through to discharge. This role is based in the Wellington Regional Hospital on a rotating roster Monday – Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for providing quality, customer focused reception services to our patients attending clinics or making phone enquiries. You will schedule patient interactions and bookings, interact with our clinical teams to provide the very best patient journey.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the smooth running of our clinics, and ensuring that booking protocols are followed to keep waiting times to a minimum, recording and confirming patient information in our Patient Management System and following up with patients who have missed appointments

The Outpatient Reception and Community teams provide high quality, efficient and effective administration support to our clinical teams within Capital & Coast which enables them to focus on patient care.

About you, we are looking for someone with effective time management skills, is self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be able to deal with ambiguity, comfortably handling risk and uncertainty, while also having great communications skills and the ability to communicate with members of the public who may be distressed. Your excellent attention to detail, along with your perseverance and commitment to your work will allow you excel in this role.

Other skills and experience we are looking for previous experience in a customer service role, particularly in a high volume areas. Good Microsoft Office Suite computer skills such as excel. Ability to maintain patient and office confidentiality in line with the Privacy Act. Exposure in working with a range of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
