About the role the New Zealand Police has a permanent position available for a Liaison and Compliance Officer based within the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in Wellington. As the Liaison and Compliance Officer you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance within the Financial Intelligence framework.

The ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders is critical to this position. You will also be responsible for assisting with the coordination and delivery of training programmes to our growing list of reporting entities.

Key accountabilities monitor and report on financial institutions' implementation and adherence to AML/CFT legislations, regulations and international obligations. Report on compliance measures, ensuring FIU frameworks and applicable legislation is adhered to.

Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships, both internal and external to Police. Assist with the coordination and delivery of training programmes. Identify compliance issues and develop remediation strategies.

To be considered for the role of Liaison and Compliance Officer you must demonstrate the following technical skills excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate to diverse audiences in group environments.

An ability to initiate and maintain a variety of professional relationships. Attention to detail in information management and business processes to ensure data quality. Working knowledge of AML/CFT legislation.
