About the role this Insights Advisor role will support the work of 15 Regional Skills Leadership Groups and help link them with relevant government agencies. Within a team of seven advisors and analysts, you will work within a team of seven advisors and analysts to produce the analytics and insights that drive the Regional Skills Leadership Groups’ work programme.

You will be working within a strategy and insights team to engage a range of government agencies, Ministers, initiatives, and industry representatives to craft regional and national data insights.  We work in a busy environment and are looking for someone who has a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

We want a skilled advisor to help take the next step towards a data-driven New Zealand labour market.  But this is not a purely quantitative role. Although you will be responsible for analysis and data set development with a particular focus on the workforce, immigration, education and welfare systems - we are looking for someone who can use this information to communicate the challenges and opportunities our regions are facing. This is a chance to build your analytical and policy experience and demonstrate the power of evidence-based decision making.

We are keen to hear from you if you have an interest in new ways of looking at problems and the ability to adopt creative new approaches to analysis. Experience of working with stakeholder groups to develop, support and implement people centred solutions. The ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and to develop trust and credibility.

Experience using a range of oral, written and visual mediums to communicate in diverse situations. A proactive, can-do attitude with a high level of initiative, sound judgement and discretion. Understanding of different data sources, the evolving data system and the role of data-enabled insights. An interest in working with labour market data. Experience or knowledge of Te Ao Māori an advantage.
