Manawa Energy is offering an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Hydro Technician. In this position, you'll join a team of hydro power specialists responsible for maintaining and managing hydro power stations, dams, and water infrastructure throughout the Bay of Plenty region.
This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to enhance your mechanical expertise while gaining valuable knowledge about the operation of power stations and the supporting infrastructure needed to generate clean, green, renewable electricity.
The mechanical component of this role will be varied and challenging. You will be working on large rotating machinery and ancillary equipment, dam and spillway structures. There is also an electrical equipment maintenance component where mechanical skills are necessary.
Ensure plant reliability by performing routine maintenance using our CMMS - Maximo. Improve plant and equipment performance by completing asset improvement projects. Provide fault finding and diagnostic skills to ensure the availability of our assets is world class. The hydro technician component of this role will be to ensure that the day-to-day onsite operation of the hydro assets run smoothly.
This roll will require you to complete routine power station, dam, and water infrastructure inspections. Isolate and present the hydro generation plant in a safe and workable state using the Staylive, work control procedures. Work with HV electrical systems. Manage key stakeholder relationships internally and externally. Complete the required tasks to ensure we comply with our compliance programmes.
Our ideal candidate will be a technically minded person with a level 4 certificate in a mechanical trade, preferably with industrial experience in hydraulics, heavy rotating machinery or HV electrical networks. Accurate with literacy and numbers. Savvy with computers and digital applications. An excellent communicator. A contributing team player.
