Head Of Finance Northholm Grammar School location Sydney, North West and Hills District. Northholm Grammar School is an independent K-12 co-educational day school located on a beautiful rural property in the Hills District of North West Sydney. The Head of Finance will lead, manage and give direction to guide the financial strategies and plans in alignment with the broader strategic plans of the School. This position is expected to contribute sound commercial views and business analysis to the vision, aspirations and goals of the School. In addition to responsibility for financial, taxation and statutory compliance requirements, the Head of Finance will provide strong financial support to the decision making process; enhancing management reporting and business processes when required. The Head of Finance will keep the Principal, as well as the School Council, fully informed of all matters of finance and administration which relate to the position. The Head of Finance is also the Company Secretary and as such is accountable in that capacity and attends Board meetings in an advisory role. The Head of Finance is also responsible for undertaking operational activities including drive the financial performance and fiscal accountability of all school operations, manage financial risks, oversee all accounting practices including preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions, financial reporting to various government departments and ensuring statutory and tax obligations are met, preparation and lodgement of bas, fbt and abs returns, preparations of strategic financial plans and long term financial forecasts, management of worker’s compensation, management and preparation of all aspects fortnightly payroll including associated hr functions, preparation of monthly performance reporting, management of fixed assets register and reconciliations, supervises the work of the accounts officer in preparing accounts, reports for the financial management of the school and oversees the efficient functioning of the finance team. The successful applicant will be CA/CPA qualified with a proven ability to provide leadership and commercial advice. Previous experience in the Education sector is desirable but not essential.
