Group Financial Accountant Hunter Campbell Limited location Auckland. $110,000-130,000.
The Company Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Rawa is the commercial and investment arm of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, the tangata whenua of Tāmaki Makaurau.
Whai Rawa is predominantly a property investment and development company based in Auckland, focused on building homes for its whānau, commercial residential housing developments and as a landlord within central Auckland. Whai Rawa’s principal objective is to maximise the long term financial and economic returns to their stakeholders, the hapū of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
With offices located in Te Tōangaroa at the eastern end of the CBD beside Britomart, they're a close-knit, sociable team who work collaboratively day-to-day. Whai Rawa has a big focus on employee wellbeing and support flexible working arrangements.
The role reporting to the Finance Manager, this role forms part of a medium sized finance team. You will also work closely with the CFO, CEO and other senior executives. The Senior Group Accountant has responsibility and delivery of the corporate accounting activities of the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Group including the consolidation. This is a newly created role due to growing business demands, making it an exciting time to join.
Key duties will include (but not be limited to) the overall responsibility for the completion and review of month end close of the individual subsidiary entities. Monthly Group consolidation and review of results.
Internal and external reporting of performance, including against budget. Review of the Balance Sheet reconciliations and clearing of outstanding items. Preparation of Year-End Financial Statement to meet IFRS requirements. Management of the cashflow forecasts. Management of one direct report.
This could be your first move from a professional services firm into industry OR you may already be in a Group or Financial Accountant role and be looking for a new challenge. You will be CA/CPA or equivalent qualified with a strong understanding of NZ IFRS. Excellent Microsoft Office skills along with written and verbal communication skills are required. You will be deadline focussed, a team player, resilient and calm.Property industry experience will be advantageous but is not a priority.
