Job Description
Prepare monthly financial reports across multiple entities, including balance sheet, profit and loss, and internal management reporting
Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
Produce monthly management reports and provide insightful commentary on variances to budget or forecast
Process monthly accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register updates and depreciation journals
Complete balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances
Keep banking records up to date across all relevant entities in accounting systems
Assist with year‑end financial statements and support the external audit process
Prepare compliance reporting and lodge taxation obligations including BAS, income tax, payroll tax and FBT
Support intercompany invoicing and internal financial processes
Document, map and standardise finance procedures to improve team efficiency
Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of finance systems and process improvements
Provide accurate and timely financial information to the broader finance team and key stakeholders
Build strong working relationships across the business and operate in alignment with the organisation's values
The Successful Applicant
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
CA or CPA qualification, supported by a relevant Bachelor's Degree
Ability to start as soon as possible is highly desirable
Strong working knowledge of AASBs and external audit processes
Experience preparing financial statements and managing tax compliance obligations, including BAS, Income Tax, Payroll Tax and FBT
Proven experience in a hands‑on accounting role within a commercial environment
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
A proactive self‑starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
