The Bureau are Australia’s weather, climate, water, oceans and space weather agency. Our work touches the lives of all Australians every day. Our products and services include observations, forecasts, warnings, analysis and advice. They cover Australia’s atmosphere, water, oceans and space environments.
The Enterprise Services Group (ESG) design and deliver integrated enterprise-wide solutions to support the delivery of the Bureau Strategy. We are driven to continually improve and engage widely to develop a streamlined and coordinated approach, delivering seamlessly and professionally so our services, systems and processes are fit-for-purpose, user-friendly and compliant.
The Executive Officer is a key role within ESG. The Executive Officer works closely with the Group Executive Enterprise Services and Chief Operating Officer to provide leadership, guidance and support to the Bureau's senior leaders.
The position requires the establishment and maintenance of close and professional working relationships with the CEO’s office, Senior Executive, the Executive Support team, and group and program representatives.
Key attributes of the role are the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, foster and maintain positive relationships, and apply strategic insight to the Bureau's and Group's activities. You will have a highly developed understanding of issues, sensitivities and reputational risks in the Australian Government context.
Successful candidates will have strong government strategy and policy experience, excellent analytical and communication skills, high level organisation skills, the ability to develop strong working relationships and a willingness to work effectively under pressure. They will have an aptitude for making strategic linkages, and for finding pathways to action through complex intersections of strategies, policies, and operational priorities.
