Design Standards and Compliance Engineer Counties Power Ltd location Auckland.

Due to network growth we are now looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Design Standards and Compliance Engineer to join our Network team.

The role as the Design Standards and Compliance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive set of Counties Power network design and maintenance standards, ensuring standards meet industry practice, are fit for purpose, modern and aligned to the business strategy. Key to this position is considering and incorporating Compliance, Safety in Design and Public Safety principles; maintaining technical standards, specifications, supporting approved network materials register and network processes.

Reporting to the Asset Engineering Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role contributing in; aligning Counties Power’s practice to industry best practice and regulatory changes, the Network Approval processes, including review and assessment of new or replacement materials and fittings assistance in equipment failure investigations and identify and recommend changes based on findings.

To be successful in this position you will hold a relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar. Have 5+ years’ experience in electricity distribution industry in power systems engineering or similar positions. Have in-depth technical knowledge of the principles of risk management, investment decision making and material specifications. Have demonstratable experience in fostering collaborative and constructive relationships. Have a calm and professional temperament and outstanding attention to detail.
