Parininihi Ki Waitōtara (PKW) is a Māori Incorporation based in Taranaki, Aotearoa. Due to business growth, this newly created role of Deputy General Manager Ahuwhenua will report directly to the GM Ahuwhenua and is responsible for assisting in operational leadership including responsibility for proactive planning, organising, coordinating and communicating the assigned businesses’ strategies and operations to support the attainment of key performance indicators and strategic objectives.
Skills & experience the successful candidate will have strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering results in a significant operational role, in a related agri-sector. The successful applicant will ideally have credibility, knowledge and technical farming expertise particularly in large scale Bovine/Ovine dairy and drystock operations.
Great planning and organisational skills, and operational management experience. Proven experience as a collaborative leader with a sound knowledge of HR practices and principles. A passion for and unwavering commitment to health and safety. Demonstrate an understanding and empathy with aspirations for Māori economic development and of tikanga Māori.
Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with multiple personalities/stakeholders. Strong project management, negotiation and decision-making skills. Preferred candidates for this role will have 5+ years' experience in leading diverse teams with proven commercial acumen.
