Dunedin Airport, based in Momona, connects the rest of New Zealand and the world to this beautiful part of Otago to explore, enjoy and experience the beautiful landscape and abundant number of activities it offers. Dunedin Airport is a public unlisted company, established under the Airport Authorities Act 1966, and incorporated in 1988. It is equally owned by the Crown and Dunedin City Holdings Ltd.
What does the role involve this is a permanent position working on a night shift roster basis (2 on, 4 off roster) 8pm to 8am, Monday to Sunday. The role involves efficiently and effectively maintaining and controlling landside and airside infrastructure, ensuring all facilities run successfully and smoothly, providing a premium service to our customers at all times.
Working alongside the greater Dunedin Airport team, this role is to ensure the experience people encounter at the Airport is exceptional throughout their entire journey from the road, right through to the boarding the aircraft and vice versa. The Dunedin Airport lives by their motto of ‘connecting our place, to more people, in the best way, every day’.
This means undertaking operational activities including traffic and passenger service vehicle management, routine plant maintenance, routine checks and readings throughout the evening, baggage belt maintenance, car park and terminal presentation, safe-guarding the security and statutory compliance, all the while focusing on the service the customers are receiving as they make their way through the airport.
Health & Safety requirements and Standard Operating Procedures are always to be adhered to and the Airport environment is kept clean, compliant with a safety-orientated viewpoint.
So, who are we looking for the person we are looking for will be a customer service champion who enjoys working nights. They will possess exceptional communication and inter-personal skills and know how to remain calm and composed in the face of challenge, especially when working in a public environment. They will have a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to foster a safety orientated environment. With a high level of integrity and accountability and a positive ‘can do’ attitude this person will be able to quickly achieve optimal results.

Highly organized. Current drivers licence. First Aid Certificate (desired but not essential). Team player with a good sense of humour. Calm under pressure at all times. Flexible and willing. Able to pass security and background checks in accordance with Aviation requirements. Good computer literacy skills – MS Word, Excel and Email.
