An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Consultant within our Forensic team based in Sydney. The Forensic team is a key business unit within the Claims Solutions practice and is a specialised practice devoted to providing expert Insurance related services.
We are recognised as global leaders in our field of pre-loss consulting and post-event claims preparation, in the areas of Property Damage, Business Interruption, Construction Works, Product Recall and Cyber insurance.
This position is for a developing professional who works under supervision to analyse financial data and build financial models that capture and quantify financial exposures. This position partners with senior consultants to manage a variety of Forensic Accounting tasks with a primary focus on the communication of financial data to key stakeholders. Furthermore, the role is to help provide expert technical and strategic advice to assist our clients in mitigating their risk exposures.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both from home and our Sydney office.
We will count on you to:
Analyse and validate financial and accounting data from clients
Financial Modelling
Prepare loss analysis for insurance claims
Develop an understanding of insurance policies and help to provide solutions to client risk management needs
Assist the Engagement Manager to prepare, negotiate and settle insurance claims.
Write effective client communication materials under supervision – reports, slides decks & client emails
Take responsibility for own fieldwork in a timely manner in consultation with engagement manager
Work with the engagement team and learn to help identify and address key technical aspects of the engagement
Learn to develop strong relationships with clients, insurers and internal Marsh team
Seek opportunities to identify proposal leads in consultation with relevant stakeholders
Deliver work within established budgets, timeframes and deadlines
Assist to prepare project proposals, plans and reports to ensure project is delivered according to the project plan.
What you need to have:
At least 3 to 5 years post qualification experience within Audit, Middle Market, Commerce or Insolvency
Experience in insurance claims, forensic accounting, litigation, fraud or similar economic losses is preferred
Experience within the Insurance Industry is an advantage but not considered essential
CA / CPA / CMA qualified and Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business or equivalent
Strong analytical skills with a core focus on attention to detail
Commitment to providing high level client service ability to operate in a team environment
Have flexibility with an ability to work on various projects at one time.
