OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

As a Cluster Commercial Manager you will be based at Hilton Resort a Spa Palm Cove and will act as a key business partner, championing commercial awareness within the hotel, planning and executing commercial strategy with a particular emphasis on Revenue and marketing. You will lead the team to deliver on our mission to be the most hospitable company in the world. As Cluster Commercial Manager you will have your commercial focus on Hilton Cairns, DoubleTree Cairns, and Hilton Resort and Spa Palm Cove.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

In your role, you’ll work collaboratively with all Departments and the broader Leadership Team to ensure that revenue targets are met in Rooms, Conference & Events and Outlets and the Marketing Plan is fully executed across the three Cairns hotels.

· Ensure that Hilton’s culture is alive throughout the Commercial Team and within the broader hotels.

· Lead the Sales Team to achieve and surpass their annual revenue targets.

· Champion Team Members learning and development

Actively encourage communication in your department and take responsibility for your own personal development. Encourage open and honest feedback.

Develop team and individual skills and performance to the highest possible level

· Ensure communications between Commercial and all other areas of the hotel are professional, efficient and thorough.

· Be active as a member of the Hotel’s Leadership Team assisting in driving the primary goals, vision, the hotel’s annual targets and key projects.

· Assist in the formulation of the Revenue Plans for the Hotels in conjunction with the Director of Commercial and RMCC.

· In the absence of the Cluster Commercial Director, take full responsibility for the Commercial Department.

· Build a strong and productive relationship with RMCC, being in constant contact with them in an effort to mutually understand the market, drive rate and occupancy.

· Achieve RGI targets through pro-active management of rate and occupancy.

Develop sales action plans which accurately interpret the objectives of the business for all market segments for yourself and your direct reports namely Corporate, Leisure and MICE.

· Take responsibility for reviewing and reporting at month end on revenue streams and ensuring accurate forecasting as required.

· Execute daily and weekly sales meetings with your team to plan future activities and highlight successes.

· In conjunction with Marketing, develop sales, marketing and promotional opportunities internally and with industry partners.

· Ensure that the hotel is represented at relevant industry networking functions and where appropriate ensure membership of any business related organisations.

Take personal responsibility for specific accounts in partnership and as support to your team members as required.

Accurately identifying the level of influence and decision making power of contacts in the customer organisation and use these to secure business.

Contribute ideas / initiatives to support field account management to further develop business.

Review customer base to determine new opportunities for account penetration.

Actively promote the services and facilities of the hotel to all customers and guests and cross sell the other Hiltons within the Australasian family of brands when appropriate.

Rooms - Analyse trends of business by market segment, channel and GOB – co-ordinates all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rate.

Be responsible through the RMCC to maximise occupancy and average rate through good inventory and yield management control.

Recognise Hilton's environmental responsibility and commitment in working towards a sustainable future and champion these, especially within the pre-opening phase.

· Actively get involved with community activities and encourage your team to do the same.

The successful candidate for this role will bring

Minimum of 5+ year’s hospitality/travel industry experience in a revenue generating or commercial services role.
Experience presenting sales plans, presentations, etc. to executives and constituent groups.
Experienced working with departmental financial data to make strategic/tactical decisions.
Experienced in evaluating and identifying business opportunities.
At least 3 years of experience managing a sales or commercial team.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Experience in multiple disciplines with knowledge of Sales, Revenue management, Marketing and E-commerce.
