Bookkeeper and Accounts Officer for Leading Law Firm Gold Coast East Coast Injury Lawyers location Gold Coast.

East Coast Injury Lawyers is a highly regarded plaintiff personal injury law firm based in South-East Queensland. We are committed to delivering outstanding service to our clients founded on technical excellence and unyielding determination.

We have a friendly, energetic team who work hard but also know how to have fun. Our fantastic team culture is something we pride ourselves on. We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper / accounts officer to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities duties will include payment of client disbursements and office expenses. Preparing tax invoices. All trust account transactions and compliance. End to end processing of fortnightly payroll including preparation. Preparing and reconciling quarterly superannuation contributions.

Payment of BAS (PAYG tax and GST) and superannuation liabilities. Issuing payslips and maintaining leave records. End of month compliance and reconciliations. Recording journal entries. Data entry of credit card transactions and other transactions. Providing accountants with financial documentation. Banking and petty cash. Responding to all supplier queries.

Maintaining records as a paperless office. Liaising with directors and other staff. HR and personnel records management. Preparing employment agreements. Providing periodic financial performance reports including cashflow projection spreadsheets.

Preparation of policies and accounting procedure instructions / manuals. Overseeing operation of the firm’s offices, plant and equipment, stationery, computers, phones and other electronic devices. New team member inductions. Taking phone calls and welcoming clients in person when required. Adhoc admin duties.

Qualifications the successful candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Officer. Previous experience working with Xero & EvolveGo would be desirable. Intermediate Excel. Understanding of various Industrial Awards and the correct interpretation of those awards for payroll would be desirable.

Previous experience implementing new systems would be desirable. Proven experience juggling a variety of tasks together with effective time management skills. Strong attention to detail especially with respect to accuracy of data entry and following instructions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
