Administration Officer Kurbingui Youth Development Ltd location Brisbane. $22.67 – $25.22 per hour.

About  Kurbingui Youth & Family Development is a not-for-profit Aboriginal community-controlled organisation. Established in 2001, we have continued to grow in the number of services delivered to the community in areas such as employment and training, family support, domestic and family violence, alcohol and substance abuse, cultural education and engagement, support targeting successful educational outcomes for families and children and young people from preschool to tertiary, recreation and sports, early years, youth, women and men, cultural group activities, social, emotional well-being - suicide prevention, crisis response and treatment, disability support and health and nutrition.

Primary Purpose of position the Administration Officer provides professional, quality and culturally appropriate administration support for the organisation. Although this role is based in the Caboolture office, there may be times when the Administration Officer will be required to run errands and attend meetings and training in the Zillmere office or other locations from time to time.

Tasks and responsibilities reception Or administration all general reception duties screen incoming calls and, where appropriate, deal with queries or refer callers to the appropriate people. Greet visitors to the office. Undertake prompt, accurate and regular communication with internal and external clients and stakeholders. Administration provide administrative support to the program team and management. Documentation type letters, emails, scribe, type and distribute minutes.

Accounts support data entry, checking invoices and brokerage, submitting for approval.

Other duties participate in team meetings, taking minutes as required, work as an effective team member in accordance with Kurbingui’s mission, vision and values, other activities as required.

Skills and experience in a similar administration or reception position. Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organise and coordinate own workload and time management skills.

Effective communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal. Demonstrated competence in use of business technology, internet and desktop applications. For example, MS Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets, and database packages. Desirable - experience working with a community, NFP (Not For Profit), and/or Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander organisation.
