Role Description:

As the Project Manager – Minor Bids and S&Q’s, you will be responsible for developing value for money proposals within the HF Sensing Product Portfolio. Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, you will Engage with Program Managers, delivery teams, functional teams (including finance, commercial, supply chain, HR, SHE, quality and estimating & pricing) to develop minor bids and S&Qs (proposals) to support customer needs.

Core Duties:

Work with functional teams to develop a repeatable process along with a suite of templates and artefacts to ensure efficient development of proposals
Coordinate and facilitate meetings to progress the proposal development
Identify risks and opportunities
Work with stakeholders to agree proposal funding (where applicable raise risk draw down proposal on behalf of the relevant program manager)
Work with Commercial and Finance, to ensure the appropriate LCM reviews (Phase reviews, Request for Bid Approvals and Cost/Price reviews) are conducted and support the coordination of these reviews
Develop supporting project artefacts; Dependencies, assumptions, risks, exclusions and opportunities (DAREO) register, Statement of Work, time phased budget, schedule, and Basis of Estimate
Identify additional resource requirements needed to develop the proposal
Ensure smooth handover of all proposal information and knowledge to the Program Manager or relevant delivery teams once work has been awarded
Work with Supply Chain, engage with potential suppliers and sub-contractors (as required)
Identify and implement improvements in how we prioritise, track and manage and develop proposals.
Act as the conduit between Programs and Integrated Product Teams, maintaining a proactive view of contract gaps and requirements
About You:

Previous experience in a similar role
Ability to motivate individuals and teams across a number of business areas, to deliver project requirements
Excellent communication skills with the ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences
Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder engagement
Able to negotiate with and influence internal and/ or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining Strong MS Office skills and experience with ProPricer
As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.

The High Frequency Sensing team is part of the BAE Systems Defence Delivery Business Unit and delivers advanced Over The Horizon Radar (OTHR) capability across the full lifecycle, spanning acquisition, sustainment and research and development – with all design wholly undertaken within Australia. It brings together expertise in large and medium scale wide area surveillance systems to support sovereign capability and operational readiness for Australian and international export customers. It is an exciting time to join the team with major upgrades occurring for Australian and US customer systems, evolving sustainment focus to ensure capability readiness for the Australian Defence Force customer, and mobilisation of a major export acquisition program to Canada, as well as future growth opportunities constantly on the go.
