Senior Library Assistant New Zealand Law Society location Canterbury.
About the role we are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Christchurch Library. Our Senior Library Assistant performs a key role in providing efficient, high quality library services to Aotearoa’s legal practitioners. Reporting to the Christchurch Law Librarian, this position is a fixed-term, part-time until 24 December 2025.
The ideal applicant will have tertiary Library qualification or equivalent. Experience working in a library. Experience working in the legal sector is an advantage. Ability to work collaboratively as part of the Library team, locally and nationally. Excellent customer service. High level accuracy and attention to detail.
Core tasks assist practitioners with reference questions. Provide high quality document delivery. Assist practitioners with accessing hardcopy resources or using online resources. Assist with the creation and maintenance of the Linx database. Assist in cataloguing and maintaining the Library collections.
