Privacy, Tech and Data Security Lawyer Wotton and Kearney location Auckland.
We are seeking a talented insurance or disputes lawyer with 5+ years’ experience to join our market-leading cyber, privacy & data security team in Aotearoa | New Zealand. Our flexible working strategy and state of the art systems will allow the successful candidate to be located in Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of privacy and information law and specific experience preparing indemnity advice. Candidates with a disputes, insurance or regulatory background, as will those with an interest in technology and the intersection between the law, privacy and cybercrime, are encouraged to apply.
As a member of our cutting-edge information law and cybercrime response practice, you will have the opportunity to work on NZ's largest and most high profile cyber, data and privacy incidents.
Key workflows will include advising organisations and their insurers on cyber and data incident response in real time, including directing incident response strategy, stakeholder management, and advising on Privacy Act and other notification requirements.
Acting on a range of privacy and data protection disputes and issues. Advising on technology liability disputes, both in a defence capacity and through coverage advices directly to insurers. Regular opportunities to present to clients and industry bodies and contribute to publications and articles.
While cyber, privacy and data security will account for most of the work, our lawyers also have exposure to areas outside of their core practice areas. This may include (but not be limited to) medico-legal, employment, professional indemnity and more.
