About the role the Compliance Officer role is situated within the Sex Offenders Registry within the Offender Management Division. Compliance Officers are responsible for creating and updating Victoria Police and external databases with registered sex offender information in accordance with the Sex Offenders Registration Act 2004 and Victoria Police policies and procedures.
Compliance Officers report to a Detective Sergeant located within the Sex Offenders Registry and will liaise with a number of internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to sworn police members, Births Deaths and Marriages Victoria, Department of Justice and Communality Safety. Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.
Your duties will include creating and updating internal Victoria Police and external databases with registered sex offender information in accordance with relevant legislation. Audit existing files and provide detailed briefings to management. Identify breaches of legislation. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy of data.
Provide timely assistance and support to regional investigators and operational members in regard to relevant legislation. Management of offender compliance with their reporting obligations under the Sex Offenders Registration Act 2004 and issuing breach charges and statements of evidence in the event on non-compliance. Correct handling, storage and disclosure of sensitive and classified information adhering to the ‘clean desk' policy.
As the successful applicant, you will have analytical skills. Ability to interpret legislation. High level of written and verbal communication. Attention to detail. Highly developed time management skills. Demonstrated ability to learn and utilise a range of computer systems. Has a strong work ethic and the desire and ability to establish positive and productive relationships in the workplace.
Requirements and relevant information three (3) x full-time, ongoing positions and One (1) x part-time (0.6), ongoing position available. Part Time position, the salary plus superannuation will be pro rata. The positions are located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. Occasionally you may be required to work at different work locations within the CBD.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception. As such your employment with Victoria Police is subject to providing evidence of your vaccination status.
