Youth Mentor Auckland Dream Centre location Auckland.
We are a faith-based Non-Governmental Organisation, passionate about community and individual transformation with a range of service delivery. Our Youth Care services enable us to be part of the transformative success with our Pasifika and Maori youth.
This position supports child & protection youth, referred by Oranga Tamariki. Our youth often come with complex backgrounds and require staff with a mature outlook. Experience in mentoring, care and support with Pacific and Maori youth is preferred. Integrity, patience, faith and a good sense of humour are essential gems to our team culture. Through early intervention, we provide a safe, supportive environment, to encourage any young person to realise their potential.
The position Youth Mentor/Carer. Full-time and Part-time (Rostered shift hours - weekends included). Immediate start. Based in Auckland Central (some travel required to North Shore).
Skill and experience previous experience dealing with children, youth in trauma & neglect is preferred. Good verbal, written communication and computer literacy skills are essential. You'll need resilience and flexibility with a good sense of humour. Ability to build strong professional relationships with Whanau/Aiga and government agencies. Physically fit and able (as this role will require physical and outdoor activities). A full, clean NZ driver licence. No previous criminal record or convictions. NZ Citizen. Te reo Māori or Pacific language is an advantage.
