About the business Synergia is posting this on behalf of The Metro Auckland Wellbeing Collaborative. The Auckland Wellbeing Collaborative has recently signed a contract with Ministry of Health for $15.6 million to deliver an integrated primary mental health and addiction service accessed through the General Practice, to practices with high enrolled populations for Māori, Pacific, Youth. There are 54 practices in this first year to June 2021. The Access and Choice programme is a 4-5 year programme being funded by the Ministry of Health from the Wellbeing Budget.

The five core elements include Health Improvement Practitioners, Health  Coaches, Awhi Ora – peer /community support workers. Wellness Support (within Counties Manukau DHB). Strengthening primary secondary service interface through access to specialist advice (Waitematā DHB & Auckland DHB).

The Auckland Wellbeing Collaborative was established to respond to the RFP & to deliver Integrated Primary Mental Health & Addiction Services (IPMHAS) to the Metro Auckland region. Awhi Ora is the NGO Community Support element of the IPMHAS Access and Choice contract. Awhi Ora Walk Alongside Support is a flexible and person-centered wellbeing support service, helping people to identify and work on the challenges that are important to them, and is based in a primary care setting

About the role we are seeking expressions of interest from people with a strong NGO work experience, particularly in the Awhi Ora model, who are passionate about improving access and choice for people seeking support for their wellbeing and mental health through primary care.

Role 1: Awhi Ora Central Co-ordination role (1FTE). The primary purpose of this role is to provide central co-ordination and ongoing support of  Awhi Ora provision in primary care as part of the Enablement Team. The Central Co-ordination role is to ensure the smooth running & full utilisation of this service. This role focuses on Co-ordinating service provision including monitoring adherence with the Awhi Ora model & to Best Practice Guidelines. Co-ordinating data submission & production of reports. Supporting & educating all stakeholders (NGO and primary care providers such as practice nurses and general practitioners). You will work closely with the Awhi Ora Lead, NGO providers & the team.

Role 2: Awhi Ora Workforce Development role (.5FTE) The primary purpose of this role is to provide workforce development support to Awhi Ora NGO providers across the Metro-Auckland Region. In the MoH contract there is an additional line for workforce development support for this contracted period only (to June 2021) to provide supervision, clinical co-ordination etc. while capacity is built up over the coming 12 months. This role sits alongside other workforce development/leadership roles of HIP, Health Coach & cultural clinical role, with a reporting link to the Clinical Director.
