The Tile Depot is a family owned and operated business with 14 stores across the country. We pride ourselves on being a leader within the flooring and bathware industry through selling quality product and providing a high level of service.

An opportunity now exists to join the Tile Depot family, with a Quality Control role available within our East Tamaki Distribution Centre. This is a new role so the successful incumbent will have the ability to make their mark by introducing and enforcing new processes and procedures that will ultimately improve the service offering to our stores and resellers.

Key role responsibilities include checking the accuracy of all orders packed within the warehouse prior to distribution to our stores/resellers. Ensuring errors in packing and any remedial action is undertaken as a matter of priority. Liaising with stores/Head Office in the event insufficient product exists to fulfil orders. Recording and reporting of errors to enable common problem areas are identified and corrective measures such as training or process improvement may be undertaken.

Ongoing coaching, counseling, and disciplining of warehouse employees as required. Customer complaints - act as the primary contact for store enquiries relating to incorrect order supply, taking personal responsibility for ensuring these are addressed and resolved quickly and efficiently. Undertake regular calls to our stores and resellers to understand any issues they may be experiencing. Where necessary, acting as an intermediary between warehouse and office.

Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement within the warehouse operation. Assisting the Inwards Goods manager with the devanning of containers when fulfillment of primary responsibilities allow.

To be successful in this role you will be articulate with great attention to detail. A confident communicator with a customer focus. A competent computer user. Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg safely. Reliable, reliable, reliable. We need you to be at work each day on time. Highly organised with the ability to juggle various demands at any one time. Ideally have previous experience working in a quality control role. A New Zealand resident or citizen.

The successful incumbent will have a real opportunity to make a big difference within our business. However, you will have to take the good with the bad.  In the event quality control levels are not maintained and order accuracy suffers, those same store staff, resellers and customers will be the first to call you to complain.
