About the role an opportunity exists for an enthusiastic person to join our friendly and supportive inpatient ward clerk team to work at Calvary Public Hospital Bruce. The purpose is to provide administrative support to clinical staff so they are able to focus on patient safety and care required of their clinical roles.

Duties include provide administrative support to our inpatient wards, including updating patient details, answering phone queries, liaising with clinical staff of all levels, assisting patients and visitors and requests as required. provide consistent clerical coverage to all ward areas ensuring all administrative tasks are completed correctly within a timely matter.

Work in accordance with the ACTPAS data entry standards, ensuring to change practice when standards are reviewed and updated. Maintain patient information computerised system and prepare reports as required. Ensure data entry into the patient administration systems (ACTPAS) is accurate and up to date at all times. Liaise with other departments to ensure the delivery/collection of reports and other items. Provide reception services and general assistance to patients, visitors, and clinical staff. Undertake admission/discharge and appointment procedures.

What You bring excellent communication, customer service and people skills. Demonstrated application of hospital based financial, billing and Patient Administration Systems (PAS), including handling cash receipt transactions and with a proven record of reliability and accuracy. Proven ability to work as part of a small team and able to take instruction and complete given tasks under minimal supervision. Proven ability to manage duties and organise conflicting tasks. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations and information. Willingness to undertake shift work.
