Visitor Services Officer Reception Zoos Victoria location Melbourne.

Ongoing part-time role at Melbourne Zoo. 0.8FTE (59.5hrs per fortnight). Roster includes working 2 weekend days every 2 weeks. Salary from $73,854 p.a. full time equivalent ($37.25/hr) including weekend loading + 10.5% superannuation.

Melbourne Zoo is seeking an enthusiastic Visitor Services Officer (VSO) - Reception to join the team.

The VSO - Reception is responsible for providing an efficient, informative and courteous reception service whilst performing a range of administrative tasks. The incumbent will provide high-level administrative support to staff at Melbourne Zoo to ensure efficiency of general operations, and is the central point of contact for communications to staff, visitors and volunteers.

Key accountabilities include supporting the delivery of exceptional visitor experiences in all areas of the department and the broader Zoo by acting as the "hub" for information communication and process facilitation. Provide a solution-focused approach to dealing with face to face visitor queries including the follow-up of any matters referred on to other staff.

Provide administration support to the Visitor Experience Team to assist with the smooth operation of the Zoo's Visitor Experience. Administer the Melbourne Zoo email inbox ensuring departments receive these on a daily basis and follow up to ensure all emails are answered. Administration of compliance documentation as required. Sign visitors and contractors in and out using agreed forms and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have proven Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook is essential). Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated ability in efficient time management skills. Disciplined to work unsupervised and ability to manage competing priorities. Proven experience as a Receptionist or Administrative Officer/Assistant. Demonstrated experience working in a busy reception area. Previous experience in customer-focused organization.

Eligibility valid Employee status Working with Children's Check. Current National Police Check. Up to date COVID-19 vaccination status.
