Visitor Services Officer Zoos Victoria location Melbourne.

Multiple Seasonal Casual roles available. Salary from $33.90/hr + weekend loadings ($30.50/hr during training period). Must be available from Mid November 2023 - end Feb 2024. Utilise your retail sales skills to assist our conservation efforts.

Melbourne Zoo as exciting opportunities to be part of the Visitor Excellence Team. The Visitor Services Officer - Admissions plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service in all interactions with our visitors. Team members contribute to delivering a financially sustainable, conservation-based visitor experience at Melbourne Zoos admission gates and across various locations within the zoo. If you have experience in working in visitor services, visitor experiences, customer service and are passionate about animals and conservation - this role is for you.

Key accountabilities of the role ensure the first experience at entry is of an exceptional standard and sets the scene for the visitors' day. Awareness of visitor needs at point of entry including membership information, way finding, parking information, transport solutions, catering options, daily operational information including exhibit closures etc.

Ensure the services offered as part of the experience are maintained to the highest standards delivering an engaging, enjoyable and safe visitor experience. Actively contributes to the enjoyment of Melbourne Zoo's visitors through a commitment to consistently delivering exceptional customer service.

Ensure the delivery of best practice customer service (internal & external stakeholders). Facilitate car parking procedures ensuring overflow car parks are maximised to their capacity. Welcome and support visitors as they navigate the Lemur exhibit. Role includes working outdoors, some physical elements and standing a part of normal shift.

The ideal candidate will have well-developed communication skills including the ability to remain calm under pressure. Highly developed organisational skills. Demonstrated skills in best practice customer service with proven skills in understanding and adapting to customer needs. Previous face-to-face customer services experience within the tourism or visitor services sector desirable.

Current National Police Check. Employee status Working with Children check. The ability to work across weekends, Public Holidays and Victorian School Holidays. Successful candidate would need to be available for set training days prior to the commencement of the school holiday period (these will be outlined at interview stage).
