Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technician (Full-time / Part-time). Brindabella Veterinary Referral Service is excited to announce that we have another veterinary nurse position available due to the continued growth of our service.

About us our surgical service is the only privately owned specialist service in Canberra. We are a small team focused on providing an excellent care to pets, their owners and our referring primary care veterinarians.

Our case load is growing rapidly and you will find our team works in a happy and fast paced environment. You will be joining an enthusiastic and hard-working team who strive to go above and beyond. We operate independently from within the Capital Paws community of practices.

We are looking for the right individual to join us, who shows initiative, has a positive, team focused attitude and is eager to provide exceptional service to our wonderful client base. We highly value team work and aim to support each other to provide the best service in a positive and successful environment.

If successful, you will have the vital role of working with our surgical team, internal medicine and current nursing team as we provide a range of soft tissue, orthopaedic, neurological and minimally invasive surgery as well as specialist medical procedures and advanced imaging.

Our service values nursing skills and you will have the ability to work independently in a specialist supported environment. Scope exists to develop the role to suit your area of interest in client relations, theatre nurse/surgical assistant, anaesthesia, imaging, patient care and hospital support or equipment care. We strongly value continuing education and support developing your skills through training, online programs and in-person conferences.

The qualities that we are looking for in our new team member include your excellent communication skills, your capacity to work autonomously but know when to ask for help, your punctuality and reliability, your ability to lean into a challenge and work under pressure as well as your willingness to be a team player.

Knowledge of EzyVet practice management system is valuable but not essential.  Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Veterinary Technician degree are valued, and passionate nurses in training are also encouraged to apply.

This role is preferably full time, although part time options will be considered for the right applicant. There are no on-call or rostered after-hours associated with this role. The conditions are consistent with the award and the remuneration will be dependent on experience.
